KOMEGA

Known for his pounding breaks, warble-driven basslines, glitchy tech-house, and, most of all, his completely self-built synths and control systems, Komega is one of San Francisco's most original yet reclusive livePA dance floor acts. Komega takes a systemic approach to live dance-floor electronic music by developing specifically taylored control systems and synthesizers that have allowed him to build a ground-up sound achieved by no one else.

Komega is well-known for beating a new breath into the SF underground club scene with his unique sound of heavy-hitting beats, convergence of techno, house, and breaks, and an infusion of heavily edited pop hooks.  In response to the DIY culture trend of circuit bending and equipment design, Komega introduced his own "kromatron" controller (pictured in SPIN mag) and the "komegatone" analog synth-in-a-suitcase. With custom gear and illuminated control devices, huge basslines and nasty rythms, common reactions to Komega's performances are awe and inspiration.
